The Retreat

Time to recover, held in care

A stay for the first weeks after birth, built on three pillars and supported by continuous care. For you, your baby and your partner.

Pillar one

Warmth

Warmth is the first principle of sanhujori. After birth, your body is kept warm and protected, so that its energy can go to recovery.

Warm rooms, warm drinks and warm textiles. Nothing cold, nothing hurried.

A steaming bowl of broth

Pillar two

Nourishment

Food is part of your care. Meals are prepared to restore and strengthen you, and brought to you at the pace of your day.

You need not plan, shop or cook. You only need to eat well.

Pillar three

Rest

Rest is not a reward, it is the work of recovery. Your days are arranged so that you can sleep, sit, and simply be with your baby.

Quiet surroundings and time that belongs to you.

Continuous care

Care that does not clock off

The three pillars are supported by continuous care, day and night. Guidance is at hand when you want it, and discreetly absent when you do not.

You are never left to wonder whether something is normal. You can ask, at any hour.

For partners

Your partner is welcome

The first weeks belong to all of you. Partners are welcome to stay, to rest alongside you and to learn with you, without carrying everything alone.
